MenosGet the app

Privacy Policy

What Menos collects, what it does not, and how to get rid of it.

What we collect

  • How the app gets used. Anonymous events for which screens get opened and which features get used, plus basic technical details such as device model, operating system version and app version. That is how we find out what is broken and what nobody uses.
  • A random identifier. Created on your phone when you install, and what those events are filed under. It is printed at the bottom of the Settings screen, so you can read it yourself.
  • An approximate region. Our analytics provider works out a country and region from your IP address. That is as close to a location as we get.
  • Whether this install has paid. Our subscription provider tells the app whether paid access is active, against that same random identifier.
  • An advertising identifier, if you allow it. Your phone asks you first. If you say yes, we use it to work out which ad brought you here. If you say no, the app works exactly the same.

What we do not collect

  • No name, email address or phone number. There is nothing to sign up for and nowhere to enter them.
  • Nothing you write or save. Your likes, your streak, your categories, your reminder times and any quote you write yourself stay on your phone.
  • No payment details. Purchases run through Apple’s App Store or Google Play, and your card never reaches us.
  • No contacts, no photo library, no health data, no precise location.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled by your phone, from the times you pick in the app. They are local notifications, and we are not told whether you opened one.

Photos

If you save a quote card, the app asks for add-only permission to your photo library. That lets it write one picture and does not let it read the pictures already there. The image is saved to your phone.

Children

Menos is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect or store any information from anyone aged 13 or under. If you believe a child that age has used the app and that we hold something about them, write to us and we will delete it.

Deleting your data

Delete the app. Everything it stored goes with it and the anonymous events stop.

Where local law gives you a right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold, write to us and we will handle it.

Security

What the app stores is protected by your phone’s own passcode, encryption and backup settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The version published here is always the current one, and the date at the top of the page is when it last changed.
